I am currently a PhD candidate in Vision and Cognition Group, Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience.
My research is focused on physiological and psychological correlates of perceptual grouping and their link to visual attention. For the several past years, I has been involved in developing a neural network model, called Higronn. Higronn is a hierarchical neural network that resembles many features of the biological vision: feedforward and recurrent processing, translation invariant recognition, contrast-invariant grouping and, most importantly, a realistic single unit dynamic driven both by “bottom-up” and “top-down” factors.
I am also a cofounder of the EventIDE project. EventIDE is a powerful stimulus presentation software combining together a friendly visual designer and professional programming tools. More details can be found on the project website.
